Elgin Pocket Watches – over 100 years of history

Who doesn’t love practicing watch making on a Pocket Watch? Everything is super sized and it makes it so much easier! Here are a few pieces I picked up second hand to work on and learn.

Elgin Model 5, Grade 73 7 Jewel. A big 18 Size tank from 1891

Elgin Model 5, Grade 546 15 Jewel. 10 size pocket watch with a dressy look, made in 1950.

Elgin Model 2, Grade 289 7 Jewel. 6 size hunter case. Made sometime around 1908 and wears a service tag indicating it had some repairs done in 1984.

All of them plus the a Elgin big 18 size from 1917 in the bottom right!

How good is this when you get one of them going?
